Product features:

Bactiv-aid 2.0 is a mixture of malolactic nutrients that have been specially selected to improve the growth conditions of malolactic bacteria in wine. Bactiv-aid 2.0 provides the nutrients necessary for the development of bacteria. Bactiv-aid 2.0 optimizes the growth conditions of bacteria, which helps in fast, effective malolactic fermentation, without any negative effect on the aroma or taste of the wine. Bactiv-aid 2.0 is known for its inhibitory effect against medium-chain fatty acids (C8, C10, C12) that may be found in wine.

Application

This nutrient source is recommended for all batches inoculated with Viniflora® malolactic culture. By adding the product, fast and clean malolactic fermentation can be ensured in most wines. It also speeds up malolactic fermentation by 40%. In order to achieve all the beneficial effects, it is recommended to administer the malolactic culture at the same time. Bactiv Aid is highly recommended if the wine has these characteristics:

• Strongly filtered white wine
• In cases where the wine has complicated physical parameters, for example high alcohol or low pH
• For wines where there have already been difficulties with malolactic fermentation
• For wines where the alcoholic fermentation was completed more than 14 days ago
• Such for wines where it is known from the raw grape that difficulties may arise during malolactic fermentation (Merlot, Chardonnay)

Dosing

Bactiv-AID must be dosed at the same time as the strain used for malolactic fermentation. Before adding Bactiv Aid, dissolve the powder in lukewarm water free of chlorine and sulphite residues. The water temperature should be room temperature. Add Bactiv Aid to the wine and make sure it is completely dissolved.
