Granucol GE flavor/odor active carbon 100g

Product features:

All Granucol types are plant-derived granulated activated carbon. During their production, we start from powdered activated carbon, varying the inner surface and specific adsorption capacity of each granule depending on the type. Thanks to the special production technology, the individual pellets are perfectly separated from each other. Licensed according to the currently valid laws and regulations. Tested for purity and quality in a specialized laboratory.

Treatment purpose:

The individual Granucol types are recommended for the following treatment purposes:
Granucol Ge: for the adsorption of undesirable flavors and fragrances.

The product and its effect:

With the simple application of Granucol, unwanted color, taste or fragrance substances can be selectively removed. With a special production process, it was possible to bind the finest particles of activated carbon while maintaining the full adsorption effect, so that - if the carbon removal takes place quickly - the aromas of the drink are perfectly preserved. The individual Granucol types have a selective effect in the case of reducing unwanted flavor and fragrance substances, as well as excessively strong coloring matter and tanning substance content. Granucol settles not only fairly quickly, but also well. In the case of combined treatment, Granucol must be dosed first, so the subsequent gelatin - silicic acid sol treatment will not only speed up sedimentation, but also improve filterability.
Dosing and application
Granucol can be added to wine, fruit juices or other drinks directly, without prior dissolution. After adding to the drink to be treated, the individual particles dissolve immediately. After adding, stir the drink to be treated intensively for several minutes. Later, it is recommended to mix 2-3 times at short intervals. Adsorption takes place within a few hours, but certainly within a day. After that, the activated carbon sediment must be separated immediately.
Preliminary experiments are recommended to determine the optimal dosage amounts.

The following amounts can be taken as indicative values:

Treatment of wines, sweet reserves and fruit juices:

• Slight mold, rot, barrel, cork, In the case of wild yeast or other foreign taste or smell: 10-40 g/100 l Granucol Ge.
• In the case of Böckser-like (hydrogen sulphide-like) foreign tastes, a slight smell of oil or petroleum: 20-60 g/100 l Granucol Ge.

Dosing a larger amount of Granucol improves the properties of the drink can greatly affect it, so it is possible that the treated drink will only be suitable for mixing. It is best to remove frost-caused, vintage-specific or unusual flavors while still in the must. (depending on the strength of the foreign taste by adding 50-00g/100 l of Granucol Ge).

• Color corrections are usually available - depending on the strength of the color effect - by adding 10-30 g/100 l of Granucol Fa-.
• For drinks with a high tannin content and deep color, and in case of cleaning difficulties, 10-50 g/100 l Addition of Granucol Bi results in good rounding and good cleansing.

Extremely gentle, yet particularly effective tanning agent - reduction can be achieved if Granucol Bi is used in combination with Gerbinol Super. This happens so that after treatment with Granucol bi, approx. Gerbinol Super is administered 1-2 hours later. according to EU-VO 822/87, activated carbon max. dosage amount for white varieties is 100 g/100 l, the determination of the dosage limit for red varieties is currently still under discussion.

Treatment of burnt spirits and wine spirits:

• In the presence of disturbing taste and smell components, treatment with Granucol Ge is recommended - depending on the strength of the disturbing effects. In most cases, a minimum dose of 50-100 g/100 l of Granucol Ge is sufficient to remove a foul taste or to round off the taste. The treatments must be carried out at the consumption concentration (max. 55 vol.%).
